About Painted Woods Golf Course

Here you will find a magnificent golf course that boasts 5 sets of tees to accommodate golfers of every skill level. Painted Woods new expansion features 18 holes of great diversity by combining a traditional parkland style course that transitions into the famous Western North Dakota rolling prairie hills. 

 

Painted Woods Golf Course started as a beautiful 9-hole facility back in 1979 when members from the communities of Washburn and Wilton had a vision of a golf course in their own backyard. With the help of many volunteers and support from both communities, Painted Woods came to life.

In 2014, Painted Woods expanded from a 9-hole facility to an 18-hole facility. This was no small task to achieve, but again, help from volunteers and donations made by many  businesses and individuals were instrumental in getting this process done. A vision and determination has helped shape Painted Woods into what is has become today.
